The Dreamers

Inspired by Goya's print series Los CaprichosThe Dreamers series represents the innocence and vulnerability of the physical state of sleep juxtaposed with the torrid kaleidoscope of dreams. The Dreamers also symbolise the blissful state of daydreaming before 'life' steals our minds back to reality. Involuntary dreams in sleep play out like films in our minds, abstractions of stored data that merge our hopes and fears. These sculpture tattoos explore loss through war and other acts of human destruction. Layered Biro drawings, often inspired by films, resemble projected images across the surface of the sculptures.
