Beautifully reproduced from Jane's intricate green Biro drawing Hiroshima Unicorn. This artwork was inspired by wartime pinup posters Hiroshima Unicorn and is one of a series of layered drawings, which form part of a body of work that also includes tattooed sculptures, entitled War. This green ballpoint pen drawing is a prequel to a work in progress exploring the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in World War II. Intended as a reflective piece, Hiroshima Unicorn presents a mythological universe with hallowed creatures of the land, sea and sky in a verdant Japan before Hiroshima became the first city to experience nuclear warfare. This artwork also explores ‘remembrance’ and the unavoidable consequences of war, including destruction, not only of humans and animals but the environment.

Jane's meticulous drawings take several months to research and make. Sumptuous signed and numbered limited edition archival pigment print, made by one of the very best printmakers in the industry.
