Summer 2018 sees the North East sizzling with monumental events such as the Great Exhibition of the North and the Tall Ships Race. Souvenirs upon Tyne recently welcomed the crew of Russia's Tall Ship the Mir for a browse in store. Did they spot the Mauretania in my NEWCASTLE t-shirts? She was the world's largest ship until 1911. Geordie pride built the Mauretania and she was launched on the Tyne in 1906. An image of her launch layered through the Seahorse in my NEWCASTLE drawing was inspired by Gladstone Adams photograph. A photographer and inventor of the windscreen wiper he was my bestie's Great, Great Uncle!

Take a sunny stroll down Grey Street 'one of the finest streets in England', and visit wor Souvenirs upon Tyne in the splendour of Dean Street, where my magpies have been released amongst angels and Brown Ale! Huge thanks to Sean and his canny team.
