Discover Arts Award - Drawing Workshop at Jarrow Cross CE Primary School
Local school Jarrow Cross CE Primary who are participating in Discover Arts Award 2017, invited Jane to deliver her endangered species drawing workshop. Organised by the school's inspirational arts champion teacher Mrs. Peacock, Year 5 students and their parents were keen to learn about threatened species. Everyone worked hard throughout the day to produce beautiful drawings in colour Biro featuring the animals they learned about.
Not only did each student make an amazing artwork but their parents followed suit and despite some misgivings, proved that everyone can draw by creating equally outstanding drawings!
Following the workshop, Jane has designed a special poster for the school which includes an artwork by each attendee. The workshop also raised funds for the Born Free Foundation. Some attendees particularly embraced the plight of the red wolf and the work of the Wolf Conservation Center who are helping to preserve the last remaining 45 wild red wolves. Another poster featuring drawings of red wolves has also been designed by Jane.
A huge thank you to all who attended for working so hard and to Head teacher Mrs McBeth and staff for all their enthusiasm and helping to raise funds for the Born Free Foundation.
